Site Work

What is it and why
do we need it?

Site work is the first step in the building process.

Raw ground by nature is faulty and unstable, prone to sagging or sinking, caving and shifting. Site work is the act of stabilizing your raw ground.

Why Is This Important

When building and developing the phrase heard most is Strong Foundation, Strong Foundation, Strong Foundation. Without a strong foundation, your efforts will be at risk. What most don’t realize is where a Strong Foundation begins. It isn’t the concrete foundation our walls are built upon. It starts with the raw ground and base work below it.

Site work begins with stabilizing the subgrade (raw ground) of your site and instills the endurance your land will need to forever carry the weight of our dreams.

Level ground is the key to the longevity of your investment. Without a level foundation, your buildings are at risk of constant repair. From cracks in the walls, doors no longer functioning properly, to major foundation repairs or drainage issues that allow water to penetrate the interior or your investment. Ensuring your buildings foundation is level and stable will deter, time and money that will be wasted in the future.

Level ground is the key
to the longevity of your investment.

The first step is a quick survey of the building site to determine where leveling needs to be procured. Our job foreman will set up a transit to measure the angels and precise measurements required to level the raw ground that will lay beneath your driveways, parking lots or the weight of your structural development.

Then we move and manipulate the earth’s surface into the parameters determined by blueprints and surveys. As the earth is being moved and manipulated it is also being compacted from depth to surface to ensure there are no air pockets or loose material within your foundation, ensure your driveway and parking lots as well as foundation pours and the erection of structure.

Once the subgrade has been established, driveways, parking lots and building pads all require a base foundation. This consist of limestone base installed to specific specifications. Building pads are determined by blueprints and surveys. For driveways, ranch roads and parking lots, we follow a 6” to 8” standard. As material is laid, it will be wet and compacted in 3” lifts to ensure its stability.

Should you find yourself requiring temporary foundation material for the sake of access, we are capable to provide this as well.
